KINSHASA
Apartment interior design in Kinshasa, Congo
The design of the apartment in the African city Kinshasa is an organic union of classical and modern styles. The owners of the apartment are a young family with two children. They appreciate modern style for its functionality, but also have sympathy to the classical elements for their individuality and sophistication, and have an extensive collection of books and paintings. In any eclectic combination, it is very important to follow certain rules of harmony. The classical style in this project serves as a canvas - walls with moldings, herringbone floor. The basis of design is a modern style - planning solution, furniture, modern doors, flush mounting, lighting and other important elements of interior design are made in light and minimalist tones.
A characteristic feature of this solution is the integration of natural materials such as wood, marble, travertine, metal, as well as the subtle inclusion of a local color, in the form of a modern version of the openwork Moroccan grilles, that ultimately gives the interior a special identity and uniqueness.
